Jewel of Arabia system requirements
Jewel of Arabia: Dreamers is an animated role-playing game. The
addition of animation gives the game a much more dynamic and
exciting feel, especially during the combat sequences. However,
animation requires more "juice" than older Macs can offer. For best
performance, we recommend a 68040 or Power Mac. If you have an
older Mac, try turning off Animation and Music in the Preferences menu.
A 68040 or Power PC Macintosh.
System 7.0 or greater.
A monitor supporting 256 colors or greys.
A screen resolution of 640 x 480 or larger.
Sound Manager 3.0 or greater.
Quick Time 2.0 or higher.
Quick Time Musical Instruments.
13 Meg of available RAM.
15 Meg of hard drive space.
Please let us know if you have any trouble running the game. Email us
at qnote@kagi.com and we'll do our best to help.
How to play
Jewel of Arabia: Dreamers was developed on the Apple Macintosh, and
has an elegant and intuitive user interface. The game makes use of
on-screen buttons to accomplish most tasks. If you see something on
the map that you would like to interact with, try walking your party
on top of it. To move your party around the map, use the mouse or
numeric keypad.
If you are already familiar with role-playing games, the easiest way
to get started is to just run the game and start adventuring with the
sample party provided. After you've taken a look at the world and have
gotten the gist of the different character classes, you can start a new
game and create your own party of adventurers. Or, if you're the type
of person who likes to jump right in, create your own party at the
start and figure the game out as you go along.
If you are an absolute beginner and have never before played a computer
role-playing game, then you will want to read the Jewel of Arabia Manual
before you get started. These games are tons of fun and are worth the
effort to learn how to play. But they are rich and complex, and you need
some background information before you can play the game. Once you've
ingested at least part of the manual, try playing the game with the
sample party we provide.
How (and why) to register
Jewel of Arabia: Dreamers is shareware and costs U.S. $25.00. This
means that you can try out the program for 30 days and see if you like
it and enjoy playing. If you do continue to enjoy the game, then please
send in your shareware fee. Shareware authors are not salaried
employees who draw a paycheck no matter what. We only get paid if
honest people send in their payments.
Jewel of Arabia is a tremendous game and was in development for
more than 2 years. During this time we all juggled day jobs and put
most of our lives on hold so we could complete it. If you like the
game, then please register it and show your support for outstanding
shareware. If Dreamers does well, we will continue to write additional
Jewel of Arabia adventures. But we can only do so if we receive
support from the Macintosh community.
Registering Jewel of Arabia: Dreamers is pretty easy. The simplest
way to register is via the Web. Our web page links to a secure web
site that can accept credit card payments. If you can't pay via the
Web, just run the register program that came in the Jewel of Arabia
folder. If you don't have a register program, you can download a copy
from our web page: http://www.qnote.com. Once you have the
registration program, run it and choose the payment method that you
would like to use and enter your personal information.
If you pay by credit card, then you can:
• Register via the Web: http://www.qnote.com
• Register by Email: sales@kagi.com
• Register by Telephone: 1-510-658-5244
• Register by FAX: 1-510-652-6589
• Register by Postal Mail:
Kagi Shareware
1442-A Walnut Street #392-JS
Berkeley, California 94709-1405
USA
Please note that Kagi currently charges an additional $5 for phone orders.
If you prefer to pay by check or money order, please print out the
registration form and include that in the envelope with your payment.
The cash payment option is provided for the convenience of foreigners,
who would otherwise have to pay unreasonable exchange fees in order
to register. Residents of the USA should not send cash through the US mail.
You will receive your registration code via email (preferred) if you
have an email address. It will usually be sent within 3 to 5 business
days after Kagi receives your payment. If you don't receive it after a
week, send email to qnote@kagi.com and we'll investigate.
If you don't have email, please request a postal receipt and your code
should arrive with it in about 1 week or so (more or less, depending
on where in the world you live). If there's a long delay, then send a
note with your original payment information and an explanation of
the problem to Kagi who will handle your request. If possible, please
enclose an email address, since this is the easiest way for us to reach
you. Thanks!
